Were it left to me to decide whether we should have
a government without newspapers,
or newspapers without a government,
I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter.

My main wok in journalism has been as a foreign correspondent, writing and producing stories on the US and New Zealand for the German Broadcasting Corporation (ARD). While living in San Francisco (1989-2003), I also wrote for various German newspapers and magazines. I covered a great variety of topics, from current affairs and lifestyle to arts and culture, science and the environment. After returning to New Zealand in 2003, I continued broadcasting feature stories on German radio.
As a freelancer I have always tried to pitch stories that had relevance and meaning and my hope was that what I wrote would enrich people's lives. I often had the privilege of writing about issues that were dear to my heart. Here are some samples of my work: Radio Stories: BR2 Radiowissen: Farne Deutschlandradio Kultur: Operation Nestegg HR2 Kultur/Wissen: Maori in Neuseeland Deutschlandfunk Ingrid Kölle diverses Articles in Newspapers + Magazines: Publik Forum: Ingrid Kölle diverses Focus: Ingrid Kölle diverses Der Spiegel: Tolkien FieberWellington |
